Who Can Join?

Although the group was set up originally for young people who couldn’t get a place within their school, we are happy to accommodate all young people who wish to take part in the award. You must turn 14 within the school year start the award, and you must finish the award by your 25th birthday.

Where and when does the group meet?

The group usually starts training new participants in January and meet a couple of times a month on a Tuesday evening at the Council Civic Centre in Southend. All training and expedition dates are provided once you have completed the enrolment process.

How much does it cost to join?

The cost to register for the award is:
Bronze & Silver: £45.00 each
Gold: £55.00
Training weekends and expeditions are an extra charge and will vary depending on location and length of time.
